Beastmaster Emerges as New Limited Job in Final Fantasy XIV's Upcoming Dawntrail

Excitement buzzes through the Final Fantasy XIV community as the game's latest event, Tokyo Fan Fest, brought to light the Beastmaster, an upcoming limited job class. This new addition serves as a testament to FFXIV's commitment to delivering diverse play styles and innovative community-centric content, ranging from intricate dungeon expeditions to expansive crafting challenges.

The introduction of Beastmaster arrives with the anticipated expansion, Dawntrail, heightening the game's already cherished limited job system. Positioned for release during the post-patch phases of Dawntrail, Beastmaster invites players into a realm reminiscent of Pokémon adventures set within the vibrant world of Hydaelyn.

Limited jobs in FFXIV are known for their unique positions within the game's system, distinct from the main jobs by capping at ten levels below the maximum. The Blue Mage, the game's current limited job, typically gains a level increase following an expansion's post-patch updates, as seen when Endwalker's patches propelled it to level 80.

Naoki Yoshida, the game's esteemed producer, marked the arrival of Beastmaster within the 7.X patch updates of Dawntrail rather than in the expansion's initial release. This debut is eagerly awaited by fans who are curious about how Beastmaster will mirror the characteristics of its predecessors from Final Fantasy V and XI, particularly in terms of capturing and commanding the game's monsters in battle scenarios.

From what is known about the nature of "limited jobs," much can be inferred about the upcoming role. The Blue Mage, for instance, boasts considerable strength, drawing its prowess from the monsters' spells across the FFXIV universe, including those from formidable bosses. To sustain balance within the gaming environment, however, powerful limited jobs like the Blue Mage come with certain gameplay constraints.

These limitations mean that Beastmaster, much like the Blue Mage, will likely face restrictions that exclude its use from Main Scenario Quests, Duty Roulettes, PvP matches, and deep dungeon ventures. Nonetheless, the flexibility to participate in dungeons or trials with predetermined parties or unrestricted parties—often deemed undersized for standard content queuing—remains open.

Over the years, the Blue Mage's potential has been leveraged by players for remarkable achievements, from solo victories over some of the most challenging content to amassing substantial in-game wealth swiftly. Hence, even though the Beastmaster may not be classified as a main job, it holds the promise of injecting a wealth of excitement and possibilities into the gaming experience.
