Creator of Alan Wake 2 Aspires to Develop a “Lavishly Funded, Dark Gothic Fantasy With an Eccentric Twist”

Alan Wake 2, with its sheer brilliance, has recently graced the gaming world, as detailed in our glowing review. We particularly admired the game's audacity and its feeling of being a labor of love from Remedy.

However, just because Sam Lake, the creator of Alan Wake 2, has achieved this milestone does not mean he's planning to rest on his laurels. In an interview with GQ, he revealed there are still more goals he wants to achieve:

"I certainly have other ambitions. I believe there will come a time when I will retire. Until then, this whole journey keeps me thoroughly engrossed."

Lake still has unused concepts, one of which includes a "grandiose, dark gothic fantasy with an exorbitant budget." 

We hope Lake gets the opportunity to bring this vision to life before he decides to switch gears. In the meantime, gamers can enjoy Alan Wake 2, featuring an upcoming New Game+ mode and two DLC rounds scheduled for 2024.
