Wild Hearts is a unique action-role-playing game that features eight different weapon types, including the likes of wagasa and katana. Players can also use the Karakuri mechanic to build items that assist combat, such as crates that can be used to leap off and deal massive damage to enemies, or a torch that can be used to ignite them. 

The game also features a variety of monsters and monsters-inspired bosses that players must defeat in order to progress, as well as a wide range of puzzles and mini-games that add an extra layer of challenge and fun to the experience.
